On the eve of the congress, Mr. Dugin told reporters that at the upcoming event “it will be decided to remove Eduard Limonov from his post of leader, and the issue of establishing a new organization will also be considered.” At the same time, he noted that “it is too early to say whether it will be a political party or a public organization.” According to Mr. Dugin, “about a hundred people will take part in the congress, former Limonovites who realized that there is no longer National Bolshevism in Limonov’s organization.”
The leader of the Eurasians is confident that Limonovites are leaving the organization en masse and coming under his wing. “In fact, Limonov has several dozen people left, and he has already lost about 80%,” says Alexander Dugin.
However, Eduard Limonov himself, in a conversation with a Vremya Novostei correspondent, said that there are just over a dozen schismatics. “This is really a storm in a teacup,” says the NBP leader. - At one time, during 2005 and 2006, we expelled a number of people from the party for treasonous behavior towards our organization. Their total number barely exceeded a dozen. As far as I understand, they did not have any ideological disagreements with the party. Mostly these are personal emotions, envy, irritation and all that. Because all the arguments that were given are the same Kremlin arguments - participation in the “Other Russia”, supposedly some kind of “orange” course, although we said a thousand times that we remained in our previous positions, there are no changes. The only thing is that we are ready to conclude a tactical alliance against the Kremlin with anyone - with liberals, with communists, we have maintained excellent relations with them for more than two years.”
Mr. Limonov is confident that the split in the NBP is a Kremlin project, developed according to the same scenario as the attempt several years ago to split the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (at that time, as is known, the ultimately unregistered All-Russian Communist Party of the Future appeared) .
