And Grigory Yavlinsky's first deputy in the RODP, Sergei Ivanenko, seems to have completely crossed himself that the Yabloko party will finally be left behind with proposals to unite with the Union of Right Forces into one party.

The most prominent speaker at the SPS congress, however, was Valeria Novodvorskaya, not a member of the party, but it was she who insisted on a) refusing to curtsy to President Vladimir Putin; b) the watershed between the Union of Right Forces and United Russia, otherwise "many people confuse you"; c) search for a national consensus only with democratic forces (minus the communists and nationalists). Nikita Belykh counted in the speech of the leader of the Democratic Union seven (!) Points of violation of the new law on extremism and called on his party comrades to physically protect the ardent revolutionary if something happened.

His eternal deputy, Leonid Gozman, who is considered Chubais’s right hand in the Union of Right Forces and the main developer of Horizon 2007-2017, in turn insisted that the rightists position themselves not as a class party, but as an ideological party, which, from Duma to Duma, must first regain its his faction (2007), get a blocking package in parliament (2011), become the ruling country (2015) and, finally, elect his head of state a year before the centenary of the Great October Revolution.

Boris Nemtsov objected to him (from the podium): that it is absolutely impossible to skip 2008; and Sergei Ivanenko (on the sidelines), joking that a year of a right-wing president in Russia is enough for another revolution.
