In the Chita region, the general director of Darasun Rudnik LLC was detained, at the mine of which 25 people were killed on September 7, RIA Novosti reports. According to the press center of the prosecutor's office of the Chita region, the director of the mine on Tuesday was called for interrogation, after which he was detained.

"He was detained on suspicion of violating safety rules during work at the Central mine, as a result of which people died," the agency’s interlocutor said.

It is assumed that on Wednesday the prosecutor’s office will bring the charge to the detainee under part 3 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code (violation of safety rules during mountain, construction or other works, which entailed by negligence the death of two or more persons). Today, the court will consider the issue of choosing a preventive measure.

During the production of welding, wooden fasteners of the shaft trunk lit up. Of the 64 people who worked in the mine at the time of fire, 39 were saved. 25 miners were killed, including four women.
