President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, commenting on the situation related to the retention of the Belarusian girl Vika Moroz by the Italian family of Justo-Bornachin, said that he instructed to "double-check all the facts voiced in the media about what were the conditions of the girl’s residence in the Belarusian boarding school and how they reacted." Lukashenko also informed that "next week the Secretary of State of the Council of Security will report on these issues."

The Belarusian leader emphasized that "if the facts are confirmed, the conclusions will be made the most serious."

Speaking about the healing of Belarusian children abroad, the president said that the Belarusian authorities "intend to heal their children in their country," but he emphasized that his country would not change the rules of international adoption.

"I think that today there is no need to change the existing order of international adoption, although the Italians have turned out a bad situation," said Alexander Lukashenko, explaining: "We have the best relations with Italy on adoption issues." "But in this way it is impossible to act, and we are obliged to protect our citizen, wherever he is."

The President of Belarus does not exclude that the process of healing children abroad will continue, "but it will be under iron control." “It will be tougher,” Lukashenko said.

In addition, the president noted that "there is a lot of money behind this recovery abroad, and we wanted this money to enter the country that suffered from the Chernobyl disaster."

As you know, a minor citizen of Belarus, Vika Moroz, who was in Italy at recovery as part of a group of pupils of one of the Belarusian orphanages, did not return to her homeland within the prescribed period.

The Italian family, who repeatedly accepted the girl, openly announced that she did not intend to return her to Belarus. Motivating the reasons for her behavior, the family said that the girl was subjected to sexual violence in her homeland. This information by the children's institution where the girl was brought up is rejected.

The authorities of Italy considered the situation, and on September 6, the Genoa juvenile court adopted a resolution on the return of a minor to Belarus in the established time limits.

Due to the failure to fulfill the Italian family of the court decision by the court of minors Genoa on September 11, a new decision was adopted on the search for the Belarusian girl and her immediate return to the republic. Currently, Vika Moroz, which was delivered to Minsk on the night of September 30, is in the rehabilitation center.
