
A suspect in the murder of two young children was detained in Tuva. "On suspicion of committing this crime, a 38-year-old previously convicted citizen was detained," the press service of the Tuva prosecutor’s office told the Interfax agency.
According to the investigation, on September 30, the suspect met a three -year -old brother and his five -year -old sister on the outskirts of the village of Uyuk, raped the girl, and then drowned both children in the river.
On the fact of the murder of the brother and sisters, the prosecutor's office of the Piy-Khemsky district of the Republic opened a criminal case under paragraph 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("killing two or more persons in order to hide another crime or facilitate its commission, as well as with violence or violent actions of a sexual nature").
During a survey of the fellow villagers of the dead children, it turned out that one woman heard children's screams late in the evening from the river, but did not attach any importance to this.
As previously reported, a three-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl living in the village of Uyuk Piy-Khemsky Kozhuun left home on Saturday and did not return. On Sunday, their search began by the forces of the police officers and rescuers of the Ministry of Emergencies. On Tuesday, the Siberian regional center of the Ministry of Emergencies reported that the bodies of children were found.
