Seven parties went to the Diet of Latvia. In the first place - ruling

Seven parties take place in the Diet of Latvia. These are the preliminary results of voting voting at 992 out of 1006 polling stations, ITAR-TASS reports.

In the first place is the People’s Party, which heads the current government - 19.33% of votes. With a minimum lag in second place - the union of green and peasants, also entering the coalition - 16.56%.

The opposition right party "New Time" closes the three leaders - 16.15%. Another political force included in the current government is the unification of the Latvian first party and the Latvian Path party - 8.53%.

The main surprise of these elections was the faint result of the unification of the skeleton, which, contrary to the election ratings, has hardly overcome the 5%barrier. At the same time, the center of consent, which, according to experts, managed to attract both Russian and Latvian voters, unexpectedly high result.

The TB/DNNL nationalist association with 6.83 percent also takes place in the Sejm. The rest of the parties have not yet overcome a five percent barrier.

According to the local CEC, the elections passed without significant violations.

According to Interfax/BNS, the party is planning to discuss further cooperation on Monday of the current Latvian government on Monday and, possibly, to resolve the issue of expanding the ruling coalition.

One of the representatives of the People’s Party (NP), which is part of the working group for the formation of the coalition and led the NP election campaign, Armand Crauklin, told BNS that on Monday the party would discuss the results of the elections and decide whether to work together and further.

Another chairman of the NP ATIS Slakteris told BNS that the party that formed the party had previously agreed on Monday at the Coalition Council to discuss further cooperation. “It is logical to consult first of all with those who are included in the coalition,” he said.

Slakteris expressed the opinion that the preliminary results of the Sejm election indicate the support of the Aigar Kalvitis government by voters. Therefore, according to him, there is no reason to destroy previous cooperation.

All three parties of the ruling coalition, after analyzing the election results, could decide together whether it is necessary to expand the coalition, and with which party, Slakteris believes.
