The threat looming over the gambling business is heavy and real. "Daisies" hid, "columns" drooped. The roulette wheel creaked and ran over the curb of the law. Yes, there is no federal law yet, but there is already law No. 25-ZRT “On the placement of gambling establishments on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan”.

Not for the first time, an energetic republic outstripped a sluggish federation: this law was adopted here in the spring. And until October 18, the roulette workers must close their salons, sweep the spilled change with a broom and take out the property ... No, not to the tundra (Tatarstan is located in the middle lane), but to two places defined by law, one of which, in terms of attractiveness, only slightly exceeds the edge of permafrost . In the village of Kamskiye Polyany 15 years ago, the construction of a nuclear power plant was frozen, and here, to the unfinished reactor, it was decided to send those who play for fun. That is, enrichment without uranium is allowed.

What will happen to the implementation of the law in Russia can be imagined, having the experience of Tatarstan. As expected, the frozen Glades did not seduce any of the owners of gambling establishments. And you can't drag them into the premises of the Kazan hippodrome, which are poorly adapted for playing, even on horse-drawn traction. Instead of moving, they began to put up pickets and vigorously rallies in the square.

They challenged the law in court and invited Moscow human rights activists to Kazan, who found legal inconsistencies in local legislation. With a circulation of as much as 400,000 copies, a free newspaper has been published, proving that "the authorities are strangling entrepreneurs." At the same time, materials are published from which it is clear that representatives of the authorities themselves are not averse to rowing voiced coins with a shovel. Here's a picture of a two-story gambling club, allegedly owned by the family of the head of one of the districts. Yeah! Will there really be a library here after the gambling business is regulated?

In response to this disobedience, the local authorities arrange total inspections in clubs and casinos, disseminate exclusively negative information about these establishments and declare that they will solve the problem of the gambling business completely anyway. All this is reminiscent of twenty years ago the fight against drunkenness, when they did not know what to do with vodka and what to do without it. The only difference is that the majority of the population drank (and still drinks), but the minority still plays.

Having joined the current struggle, Vladimir Putin, one might say, has bet on zero. You can't lose here - the non-playing majority, considering the president's initiative as rational, will closely monitor the actions of the authorities. And everyone knows how our authorities operate. And it seems that, after they break fresh firewood, everyone will come to the conclusion that you can play, like drinking, everywhere, but culturally. Well, that is, addressing the partners as “you”, without relaxing the tie knot and kissing the hands of the ladies, on which there were rings and bracelets before the game.
