Editorial
And the population entrusted to them, the media and especially the leading television journalists do not care either. They are not ashamed.
The great Russian writer Viktor Astafiev publicly called our population a “bitch” for their unconsciousness and indifference. This definition does not apply to the people of Russia. It does not apply to those who remember the relationship between Russian and Georgian culture and faith. Those who do not participate in chauvinistic hysteria, do not support obscurantism and madness, for which they will be ashamed.
For more than two centuries we have rubbed each other. They tolerated each other in order to cultivate a feeling that was encroached upon by the temporary rulers of Russia.
(Let the Georgians write about the stupidity of the Georgian leadership).
Madness in politics is like an avalanche. Today, the hunt is open for those who bear a Georgian surname (adults and children), tomorrow you will burn books by Dumbadze, Amirejibi, Galaktion Tabidze (and along with them - poems by Pushkin and Lermontov, Akhmatova, Pasternak, Mandelstam, Akhmadulina, who wrote about Georgia and translated her poets). Ban Kancheli's music, Sturua's performances, wash off the emulsion from the films of Danelia, Ioseliani, Khutsiev, Kalatozov, rename Georgian streets in the capital and erase memory. About Me.
And Georgia will live. And we, who were friends and loved, will be friends and love. And support each other. In the confrontation between the people of Russia and the population led by blind guides, the latter will lose.
Those who do not love will not be loved. Nobody.
Today I, a Russian, am a Georgian. And I'm proud of it.
