| The terrorist attack on the Cherkizovsky market was only one of eight actions to intimidate Caucasians Law enforcement agencies are considering expanding the list of charges against three Moscow students arrested for organizing an explosion at the Cherkizovsky market. As Vremya Novostei learned, they are now also suspected of a whole series of similar actions in Moscow and the Moscow region, although without serious consequences. As detectives found out, students blew up street kiosks. Initially, criminal cases against them were initiated under Art. 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism), but now it is clear that the students set themselves the goal of thus scaring the “non-indigenous” and forcing them to leave our country.
An explosion occurred at the Cherkizovsky market on the morning of August 21. The suspects in the terrorist attack, which killed 12 people and injured 50, were detained on the spot. They turned out to be a student of the Russian Chemical Technical University named after. Mendeleev Oleg Kostyrev, student of the Moscow Social Institute Ilya Tikhomirov and first-year MIIT Valery Zhukovtsov. During the first interrogations, they said that they decided to carry out the explosion out of a feeling of hatred towards Asians and, in addition, they were members of some kind of nationalist organization. As a result, the intelligence services got on the trail of a cell that had formed around the military-patriotic club “Spas”. First, the head of this club, Nikolai Korolev, was detained, and then the Spas hand-to-hand combat coach, FSB warrant officer Sergei Klimuk. According to investigators, he allegedly encouraged the youth to blow up the market.
“Klimuk was a very authoritative person among young people. He knew how to convince. Klimuk told the teenagers what they wanted to hear. He told some that he fought in Chechnya and saw how Chechens mocked Russians. He told others that he had very good connections in the FSB and among the “big bandits.” Nevertheless, during the investigation he showed himself to be a very strange person,” a source close to the investigation told Vremya Novostei. - Many people have the impression that he is not entirely adequate. During interrogations, he expressed truly idiotic ideas about the nationalist struggle. He has a good tongue and can talk nonsense for hours. But he immediately abandoned the Cherkizovsky market. When they asked him why he went to the market with explosives students (Klimuk was seen several times near the site of the future explosion), the warrant officer began to say that he was engaged in marketing research. Allegedly, he wanted to buy T-shirts at the market for 100 rubles, then put a design on them and try to sell them for more. He also started fooling himself when they asked him about Chechnya, where he had never been.”
At the same time, it turned out that Klimuk was related to the International Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture and personally knew its founder and president, the famous sculptor Vyacheslav Klykov. The Vremya Novostey Foundation itself confirmed that they know Sergei Klimuk. “He came to us about a year ago and said that he wanted to work with children, we helped him. Klimuk worked with difficult teenagers,” one of the foundation’s employees told our correspondent. - Dozens of children passed through him who stopped drinking, smoking, and taking drugs. He pulled out the absolutely hopeless. He taught them to fight, gave lectures on the basics of theology. I personally know yesterday’s drug addicts, Satanists, who, after communicating with Klimuk, began going to exhibitions and became normal people. I can't imagine how he could have gotten involved in this matter. I don’t rule out that they are simply slandering him.”
However, the investigators themselves do not exclude the possibility that they may indeed be slandering Klimuk. “Now we are talking about who will be in charge in the case of the explosion at the market and, accordingly, will get the maximum prison sentence. The students themselves had already changed their testimony several times, blaming each other, reaching the point where they simply wanted to loot. It is possible that they are trying to make Klimuk extreme,” said one of the detectives.
Surely, the recognized main ideologist of this cell will have to answer for other explosions - and there are at least eight of them - in which the detained students were involved. Operatives believe that they blew up trade tents belonging to Caucasians in Maryino, Konkov, and Lublin. “They recorded most of their actions on video and photo cameras of mobile phones and boasted, showing the recordings to friends,” the operatives said.
And the other day, the special services found out the details of a bomb explosion on the night of May 30 near the dormitory building of the Moscow Automatic Lines Plant on Podemnaya Street. “In the basement of this building there was a slot machine hall at that time. And then they decided that the explosion was caused by one of the competitors or a losing client. Law enforcement agencies spent a long time checking the hall and confiscating documentation. As a result, the gaming room was closed. But the reality turned out to be different,” the police said. According to the detainees, they knew that there were many Armenians and Azerbaijanis living in the hostel who “molest Russian girls and sell drugs.” “They wanted to plant a bomb near the entrance. But, having arrived at the place and realizing that security was on duty there, the nationalists threw a bomb into the yard,” said a source close to the investigation.
