The Kaliningrad governor decided to acquire his own standard and badge
The head of the westernmost Russian region continues to bestow symbols on the region. Previously, at the suggestion of Georgy Boos, the coat of arms of the Kaliningrad region was approved (with the Order of Lenin, the crown and monogram of Empress Elizabeth), and recently it became known that the Kaliningrad governor decided to acquire his own standard and breastplate.They were designed by the same masters who made the coat of arms - leading specialist in heraldry of the Congress of Municipal Entities Andrei Fimin and member of the Heraldic Council under the President of Russia Nikolai Ukolov. Sketches of the new regalia were recently presented by the regional Minister of Culture Mikhail Andreev. The governor's standard is the same as the coat of arms of the Kaliningrad region, but smaller in size. True, there is still one significant difference: the governor’s name will be engraved on one of the rims of the standard. “Today, only the governor of the Rostov region has an officially registered standard. So we will become second,” Mr. Andreev noted proudly.
The badge is more interesting. It is supposed to be made in the shape of a sixteen-pointed star with a diameter of ninety millimeters. The chain is no less massive - there are twelve more stars on it (though not so large), richly inlaid with amber. Each star will have a local symbol on one side (Empress Elizabeth's monogram, sea anchor, Royal Gate, crown), and on the other side the name of the governor will be engraved. There is a curious hidden symbolism that not everyone can notice. So, the number of stars on the chain is remarkable - 13. By the way, the presentation of the regalia for local journalists was held on October 13, and on Friday as well. The stars are not so simple either. Called sixteen-pointed by the developers, they look like typical... Masonic symbols - two squares superimposed on each other. Interestingly, the same double squares are engraved on the massive steel entrance doors of the Kaliningrad government. It is located in an old building - in German times there was a bank there. It is unlikely that the Germans, who were not used to doing things for nothing, placed such signs on bank doors by accident. In addition, in the pre-war period, Koenigsberg was considered one of the Masonic capitals of Europe, where three lodges operated, the most famous of them being the “Three Crowns”. Now the stars from the door will migrate to the governor’s neck.
This will happen soon - in about a month. A government meeting is scheduled for November 7, at which it is planned to discuss the standard and the governor’s “badge.” If the Kaliningrad ministers like everything, then a special bill will be sent to the regional Duma. Until this happened, residents of the region began to discuss future regalia on one of the most popular Kaliningrad Internet portals. Guests of the site are asked to answer several questions, for example, whether you recognize Governor Boos without his badge and standard. The most popular question is: “The lack of what regalia does the governor have hinder the prosperity of the region?” Among the options are not only “crown”, “scepter”, “airliner”, but also “modesty”...
By the way, the developers of the governor's regalia promise to make them really inexpensive. Thus, a chain of thirteen stars is planned to be made of gilded silver. The governor will wear it only on special occasions.
