Yasumasa Morimura. "Theater of one artist." Morimura's work combines the arts of theater, sculpture, painting and photography. Each new object is the result of lengthy preparation: first the artist creates a sculptural decoration, then transforms himself with the help of costume and makeup, and then captures the culmination of this action on film. Morimura's works are self-portraits-reincarnations, designed to re-update the images of world art and modern mass culture.
