Lebanon will get two bridges over plan

“Russian servicemen of the 100th separate bridge-building battalion will restore not six bridges in Lebanon, but eight. All work is planned to be completed by December 10,” said Chief of Logistics of the Armed Forces, Deputy Minister of Defense, Army General Vladimir Isakov. According to him, the issue of restoring two additional bridges “has been resolved with the Lebanese government.”

Vladimir Isakov arrived in Lebanon to participate in the opening ceremony of two already restored bridges. On October 27, the logistics command of the Russian Armed Forces handed over to the Lebanese side the first restored Ed-Damour bridge, 25 km south of Beirut. The first cars crossed the bridge, which can withstand a load of 60 tons. The bridge connects the Lebanese capital with the south of the country. On the same day, the Abu Zible Bridge in the Bekaa Valley was put into operation. Due to the proximity of the border with Israel, the ceremony of handing over this bridge to the Lebanese side was modest. The restoration of this bridge will allow the resumption of transport links with a number of areas of Southern Lebanon, with the mountain villages of Chouf and the Bekaa Valley.
