Detectives are again looking for witnesses to the murder of Dmitry Fotyanov

Dalnegorsk police announced a reward of 100 thousand rubles. for information about the killers of Dmitry Fotyanov, an ex-candidate for mayor of this small seaside town, who was shot by unknown assailants on October 19 at the entrance to his public reception room. This became clear during a total search of city residents’ apartments that detectives began the other day.

The police are again looking for possible witnesses to the crime or people who have some information about the murder of member of the United Russia party Fotyanov. Investigators present the Dalnegorsk residents with a photo identikit of one of the alleged killers. As it turned out at the very beginning of the investigation, many passers-by saw the criminals on that ill-fated day - after the killers set fire to the car from which they shot at the mayor, they did not even hide their faces. And since Dalnegorsk is a small city and local residents know each other by sight, the killers were strangers.

The arrest of the first suspects in the murder of Dmitry Fotyanov was officially announced on November 7. The regional prosecutor's office initially refused to name their names. But soon information leaked to the press that the main suspect was Konstantin Dolgov, one of the activists in the campaign headquarters of Alexander Terebilov, Fotyanov’s main opponent in the election race. As his lawyer Valery Slutsky said, the prosecutor’s office believes that it was Dolgov who provided the car to Fotyanov’s killers. According to the investigation, the Japanese-made minibus with transit license plates, which the killers used, was purchased at the largest used car market in Primorye near Ussuriysk. However, according to the defense, the investigation currently has no evidence that the car burned on October 19 of this year in Dalnegorsk was purchased in Dolgov’s name. But charges have already been filed. Konstantin Dolgov is charged with aiding the murderers, and another member of Terebilov’s campaign headquarters, Alexander Fedotov, is charged with murder. Both of them are under probation. Another suspect, Alexander Vovna, is wanted.

According to the detainees' lawyers, there are currently no active investigative actions being taken against their clients. They are not called in for questioning, and confrontations are not conducted. Nevertheless, the lawyers were under an obligation not to disclose information about the progress of the investigation. “We really don’t know anything except that our clients have been charged with a crime. Therefore, signing a non-disclosure agreement can be regarded rather as a hint to communicate less with the press,” said one of the lawyers.

Meanwhile, according to the assurances of the relatives of those arrested, the operatives are using inadequate methods of influence against them. And local media reported that Fedotov filed a complaint with the prosecutor’s office of the Primorsky Territory about illegal actions of the police.
