Sergey Mironov: The Russian parliament will not create a special commission in connection with the murder of Litvinenko

The Russian intelligence services "are absolutely not involved in the murder of Litvinenko," the chairman of the Federation Council Sergei Mironov, who participates in the International Parliamentary Conference on the Combat of Terrorism in the Belgian capital, said in an interview with the ITAR-TASS correspondent.

He added that Russia does not see the need to create a special parliamentary commission on this issue before giving publicity to the official version and any confirmed facts from the murder of the British authorities investigating this.

At the same time, the head of the upper house of the Russian parliament believes that "the detection of Polonia's traces in the London office of Berezovsky leads to some thoughts."

We will remind, earlier the Russian authorities suggested that it was Berezovsky who could be involved in the mysterious story with the death of Litvinenko. In his London office, traces of the Poloniy-210 radioactive substance, which were poisoned by a former FSB officer, were found on his London office.

Mironov also drew the attention of journalists that the murders of the journalist Anna Politkovskaya and former FSB officer Litvinenko occurred when Russian President Vladimir Putin was on important Russia-ES summites in Finland. “I do not believe in the coincidence,” Mironov said.
