The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation refused to revise the verdict Mikhail Khodorkovsky

The judge of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation refused to initiate supervisory proceedings on the complaint of the defense of Mikhail Khodorkovsky to the sentence of the ex-head of the NK Yukos. In the supervisory complaint, the defense of Khodorkovsky asked to cancel the sentence as "illegal and unreasonable."

The lawyer of Khodorkovsky Henry Padva told reporters that after getting acquainted with the decision of the judge, the defense would decide on further appeal, Interfax reports.

On May 31, 2005, the philistine court of Moscow sentenced Khodorkovsky and the head of the MFI Menatep Platon Lebedev to nine years in prison, finding them guilty, including in tax evasion. Later, the cassation instance of the Moscow City Court reduced the term of punishment to eight years of imprisonment.

In addition, the judge of the Moscow City Court refused to initiate supervisory proceedings on the complaint of Khodorkovsky’s defense against the conviction, recognizing him legal and reasonable. The same decision was made by the chairman of the Moscow City Court Olga Egorova.

After the sentence of the sentence, Khodorkovsky was laid to serve his sentence in the colony in Krasnokamensk, the Chita region, and Lebedev - to the colony in the village of Harp on Yamal.
