One person died as a result of an emergency with a car on the ice of a fraternal reservoir in the Irkutsk region.
As Interfax-Siberia told the chief expert of the HIMS department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies in the Irkutsk Region Sergey Moiseev, last Thursday in the evening the driver of the Toyota car, in a state of strong intoxication, drove into the ice of the Bratsk reservoir near the village of IGzha Nizhneudinsky district. On thin ice, the car went into the water.
"The thickness of the ice there is now dangerous even for pedestrians - only 5 centimeters. There were two people in the car - a driver and a passenger. A passenger said about the incident who miraculously managed to get out of a sinking car," Moiseev said.
According to him, the driver’s body could not be found. “The depth at the scene is very large - 35 meters,” the representative of the Ministry of Emergencies explained.
