The lawyer of Alexander Hofstein, Henry Padva, who was in Spain, told the faces that the date with his client was interrupted. According to the lawyer, during the meeting, the prison officers said that he was allowed to be mistaken for the client and asked to leave.
Padva also said that Hofstein still has not been allocated by the translator. “When Spanish lawyers come to him, they are explained by gestures, because Alexander knows no word in Spanish,” the defender said.
Earlier, Padva said in an interview with the Pranam.ru that the Spanish authorities violated the international and national norms of the law against Gofstein. In particular, they illegally listened to his conversations with the client.
Gofstein was detained on November 23 in the building of the Madrid prison of Soto-del Real, where he came on a date to his client Zakharia Kalashov. Investigators suggest that Gofstein transferred orders to his client to the will, and also transported large amounts of cash belonging to the criminal group from Russia to Spain.
