Representatives of the traditional religions of Russia create a charity fund for helping wounded military personnel

Russian Muslims and Jewish communities will take part in the creation of a charitable fund for assistance to wounded military personnel. Their representatives stated this at a press conference held the day before in Moscow. The Russian Orthodox Church previously made the initiative of the establishment of such a fund, ITAR-TASS reports.

The representative of the Federation of the Jewish communities of Russia (Feor) Rabbin Aaron Gurevich reported on the leading negotiations with military brotherhoods, organizations of Afghanistan veterans. According to him, Feor received a list of military people from the Ministry of Defense who needs material assistance for treatment. "Within the framework of this fund - and it is formed at the expense of private sponsors - assistance will be provided to all wounded, regardless of confessional and national affiliation," Gurevich said.

The Moscow representative of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims (Tsuchu) to the Rastam Valeev, in turn, said that various Islamic structures, including Muslim communities of the North Caucasus, will participate in the activities of the fund.

As noted in the information of ITAR-TASS, representatives of both Muslims and Jews agreed that the clergy should be present in the Russian army. "The presence of a clergyman, no matter what faith, troops, military universities are extremely positively affected by the training of the military, is reduced by sharpness, tension in interethnic, religious issues," Gurevich said. At the same time, Valeev is convinced that representatives of the regimental clergy should maintain a “freelance” status: “not to have a title, to be freely coming and leaving.”
