Time has gone back

The scale with which the 100th anniversary of dear Leonid Ilyich was celebrated is impressive. There is a complete feeling that time has gone back, so all the TV channels were plunged into tearful nostalgia about the bygone state and the hero of countless jokes, Comrade Brezhnev. The exception is Leonid Parfenov’s analytical, smart and sensible film about the hero of the day, although even there there was a strange touch with the past. But the magnificent work of Sergei Shakurov, who played Brezhnev in the series by Sergei Snezhkin, turned out to be even better in the replay than on the first viewing.

Alexey Pobortsev demonstrated masterly television skills in the film “The Indestructible Union” on the NTV channel. Editing, text, direction - at the level of first-class world documentaries. The recent past turned out to be a most interesting television show: there is something to see and something to think about.

As for entertainment, “Our Russia” on TNT seemed like an outlet for me - easy, funny, recognizable. There are more successful sketches, there are less, but they have their own, unlicensed drive.

Our television is very much - too much! -- talks about deceased celebrities, their complex, often tragic destinies. There are, however, special cases. Unfairly early (is it ever fair?) the talented and super-charming actress Lyubov Polishchuk left us. A film about her by Boris Berman and Ildar Zhandarev is a television event. Without pathos, hysteria or heightened drama, the television “portrait as a keepsake” turned out to be sincere, touching, sad and joyful. After all, true talent is joy. We won't forget her.

It’s still interesting to watch Berman-Zhandarev’s conversations with various entertaining characters “at night.” Somehow they open up more fully and talk in a non-trivial way.

Antiperson. Tina Kandelaki. A terrible accident, in which she either was or was not, highlighted a very unsympathetic image. The glamorous lady did not say a word of sympathy to her injured acquaintance (no matter how close), she only tried her best to achieve even greater fame.

It was a success: only the lazy did not respond to the incident itself and the ridiculous “pig” picked up by the TV presenter. But “Details,” which had previously been filled with empty talk, became completely false. It is impossible to believe the presenter for a second and to detect even a little authenticity in her cheerful chatter. It looks like this is not a person, but a virtual doll, dressed up, made up and wearing gloves.
