Alexander Mamut is mastering the Internet and book market

Alexander Mamut became the hero of Runet this year. Together with the founder of Afisha magazine, Andrew Paulsen, the co-owner of Ingosstrakh created the Soup company. Soup's first step was a deal with the American company Six Apart, which owns the Internet portal LiveJournal.com - the most popular resource for maintaining online diaries, or blogs. “Soup”, in agreement with Six Apart, took responsibility for the development of the Russian-language version of LiveJournal. The amount of investment in this resource has not been announced.

The Internet was not the only new area of ​​investment for Mamut. Having previously become a shareholder of the Bookbury bookselling chain, this year he successively acquired three publishing houses: Swallowtail, Foreigner and Kolibri. Each of them has its own specifics: “Swallowtail” is a leader in the field of literature for children, “Kolibri” publishes modern fiction by Russian authors, “Inostranka” is well known in the market as a publisher of modern literature by leading foreign authors. In November, Alexander Mamut headed the board of directors and gained control of the new publishing group Atticus Publishing, within which his acquisitions will be developed.
