
In the French Alps, skiing, an 11-year-old girl from Russia died. The tragedy occurred last Sunday at the Kurchevel ski resort in the Savoy Department.
According to the Newsru.com correspondent with reference to the Savoy newspaper Le Dauphine Libere, a girl on which there was no protective helmet, together with her mother was descended along the wide so -called “red” ski track (according to the international classification, “blue” and “black” highways are also distinguished, that is, for beginners and professionals, respectively, approx. Newsru.com).
During the descent at high speed, the girl flew into the natural tubercle, after which she was thrown out of the highway, and she fell into a “snow gun” (installation generating snow). Unfortunately, it fell into the metal nozzle of guns, above the airbag, which is equipped with all structures along the highway.
Rescuers, doctors and local gendarmes arrived at the place right away, but they could not help the unfortunate - she died instantly.
The name of the deceased girl has not yet been reported.
Local newspapers note that this tragedy has no precedent. Prior to this, accidents with deaths were recorded in the Alps, but most of them were associated with avalanches or injuries on the highway itself.
