A powerful snow cyclone, because of which on the eve of Sakhalin and Kurili were in the transport blockade , fell on Kamchatka on Monday.

According to the regional hydrometeorological center, a storm warning was announced on the peninsula. In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the wind speed reaches 20 meters per second. By the middle of the day, weather forecasters predict its strengthening up to 30 meters per second.

Several winds could no longer withstand several power lines. Due to the cliffs of the wires, part of the city remains without light. Repair brigades of power engineers eliminate accidents.

The most powerful wind meteorologists recorded on the southwestern coast of Kamchatka in the area of ​​the village of Ozernovsky. The impulses reached a speed of 51 meters per second. “There was no such power of wind on the peninsula for about 15 years,” Interfax told in the weather center.

In connection with weather conditions, the airport in Elizovo is closed. Those aircraft that, when flying to Sakhalin, used the Kamchatka airport as a spare, remain on the ground.

Due to snow drifts and low visibility, several roads are closed, connecting the outside world with the villages of Ust-Bolsheretsk, Oktyabrsky and Milkovo.

According to weather forecasts, the weather in Kamchatka is expected by January 9th.
