Explosion in the hostel of Moscow State University - the reason is not established

An explosion occurred in the dormitory of Moscow State University on Shvernik Street in the southwest of Moscow. According to ITAR-TASS in the law enforcement agencies of the capital, one person suffered. “He was hospitalized with wounds,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

The explosion occurred on the 13th floor of the second building of the Graduate Student house and the trainee of Moscow State University. According to preliminary data, an explosive device worked. There are no other victims, noted in law enforcement agencies.

The police suggested that we can talk about the operation of firecrackers or other pyrotechnic technology, which students could use, noting the old New Year.

According to another version, "the explosion occurred as a result of unsuccessful chemical experience." So told Interfax the duty officer of the Moscow Information and Public Relations Office. As a result of the explosion, which occurred in the second building of the Grandian and Stoyer house (DAS) on Saturday at about 23:10, glass was knocked out in the kitchen of the 13th floor, and the second-year student of the Biological Faculty of the Moscow State University was wounded by fragments of glass into his hands, legs and stomach. With a large loss of blood, he was taken to the 1st city hospital.

The guard Dasa suggested that a small explosive device worked on the floor. One of the employees of the Ministry of Emergencies said that the victim was brewing a “screw” in the kitchen. During its manufacture, gasoline is used, the smell of which, according to eyewitnesses, was felt in the hostel for Saturday.

A brigade of sappers and police officers are working at the scene, investigative actions are being carried out.
