Snow in the Moscow region may fall on January 19, when the Orthodox celebrate the festival of baptism. Such a forecast was given on Tuesday by the director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Wilfand, Interfax reports.

According to the meteorologist, there is a chance that 2-4 centimeters of snow will fall on this day. However, he added, according to preliminary forecasts of weather forecasters, a more or less stable snow cover in the center of the European territory of Russia will be established only in the last days of January.

At the same time, there will be no baptismal frosts in the metropolitan region. “We expect that on baptism, on January 19, the temperature will increase slightly and at night will be from minus 3 to plus 2 degrees, and during the day it will reach 1-3 degrees of heat,” Vilfand said. “The same January 20 will get colder: at night the temperature will decrease to minus 3-7 degrees.”
