Gazprom is going to invest a lot of money in improving its image: this year the Russian monopoly will pay PR agencies of $ 11 million to dissolve on behalf of Vladimir Putin and energy wars. The project is commented on by well -known politicians and political scientists.
Alexander Konovalov , President of the Institute of Strategic Objects:
Many firms hire PR agencies to improve their image. Gazprom is no exception. To improve the company's image, you can, of course, hire a PR agency that will talk about what a decent family man general director. And you can simply not take away Sakhalin -2 from Shell using state resources - the image will already improve. It can be shown that you have the rate of growth in production (the same gas) do not fall annually, but grow. The Gazprom has the same rate of production of production. The latest indicators, if I am not mistaken, 0.8 percent per year. This is very little.
From the point of view of professionals, the image is earned by the quality of the mental, the quality of the company, its economic efficiency, the quotes of its shares, the ability to build a long -term program, the ability to invest in oil and gas exploration, and the ability not to buy non -core assets.
I do not think that the leaders of Gazprom could formulate the following task: to separate from Vladimir Vladimirovich.
Stanislav Belkovsky , Director of the Institute of National Strategy:
Gazprom, as well as the actual leader of Gazprom, President Vladimir Putin, does not understand what a reputation is. They are alien to the idea that the reputation consists primarily from the real actions of a person, legal or physical, and not from some PR-ideas of himself or his PR contractor.
After Gazprom completely crumpled its reputation in the West by a series of scandals, starting with relations with neighboring countries and ending with the situation around Sakhalin-2, the company's management thinks that it can pay in the West to PRARS and they will quickly fix it.
Of course, this is not so. You can’t wash the black male, and the reputation of Gazprom in the West will worsen further. Pay at least eleven million, at least one hundred eleven. Therefore, from my point of view, the goals formulated by the management of the company will not lead to any results. This will only be an occasion to devote a certain amount of money to those Gazprom managers who will directly be responsible for attracting contractors on the project.
Vladimir Ryzhkov , leader of the Republican Party:
Image contracts conclude both Western and our companies - this is a completely normal practice. Another thing is that in the case of Gazprom, this is unlikely to help. The fact is that Gazprom is very dependent on the political decisions of the state and on political events in Russia. After all, it is clear that behind the crisis with Ukraine last year and the crisis with Belarus this year was not Gazprom, but by public leadership.
Of course, it is good that Gazprom is making efforts to create a positive image, but we perfectly understand that, no matter how effectively this campaign is carried out, it is not able to do anything with international crises, in which Gazprom is now and then, most often not through its fault.
If tens of thousands of newspapers and magazines around the world will write about problems with energy, gas, with Gazprom in the case of this or that crisis, then not a single PR agency can do anything with this huge stream of information, it will be just a drop in the sea.
The intentions of Gazprom are understandable, but Gazprom is in a very difficult situation of the company, which is completely dependent on the state and on state policy. In this situation, it is unlikely that he can help him.
Georgy Satarov , President of the Inter public fund:
Firstly, this kind of activity of companies is, in fact, what is called Public Relations, so there is nothing reprehensible in this.
Secondly, such costs are effective if the company tries not only to seem, but also to be. For our state -owned companies, this is extremely difficult, because they are extremely opaque, controlled inefficiently. Existing to tax subsidies and permanent foreign loans, it is quite difficult to portray itself an effective company, regardless of whether it is associated with Putin or not. Investing money in such a PR campaign, it seems to me, will be extremely ineffective.
Thirdly, for you, the fact that Gazprom is trying, so to speak, to rebuild of Putin’s image is a completely hopeless thing. For many years, all Putin’s policy is both outside the country and inside it only at one - at Gazprom.
