The authorities of Great Britain intend to seek from Russia the extradition of businessman Andrei Lugovoi, suspected of involvement in the poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko, writes on Friday the British newspaper Guardian.

According to the publication, this can happen in February. As follows from the investigation materials, there is enough evidence by which British justice can hold a meadow liable.

The British government is ready for inevitable cooling in relations with Moscow and is sure that in return the Russian side will demand the issuance of Boris Berezovsky: Moscow on diplomatic channels has already reported their readiness to go for such an exchange, despite the issuance of Russians to foreign justice contradicts Russian legislation.

However, as notes the publication, the British authorities will not agree to such an exchange, which officials in London have already repeatedly reported.

Andrei Lugovoi himself said that he did not have information that the British police are seeking his extradition.

Meanwhile, the British Ambassador to Russia Tony Brenton said that the British police counts on further interaction with the relevant Russian bodies in the investigation of the Litvinenko case.
