"The strange lack of activity" of Orthodox believers in Russia can lead to the cessation of the teaching of the "foundations of Orthodox culture." This was warned by the Deputy Chairman of the Synodal Department for Youth Affairs of the Moscow Patriarchate Archimandrite Gennady (Gogolev) in his report on the Youth section of the XV Christmas readings on January 31, Blagovet-Info reports. According to him, “thanks to the rigid lobbying of Islamic structures,” the following prospect will be implemented: “From the federal level, an object of the type“ Little religions ”will be launched, and Orthodox children will study Islamic, Jewish rites and a little Orthodoxy .”

In order to prevent such a scenario, to withdraw the Orthodox public from a "passive state", it is necessary to look for "active people, passionaries" among young people, the representative of the church believes. According to him, in the identification of leaders, the experience of the youth organization "ours" - Archimandrite Gennady in detail asked one of the emissaries of this organization about how he managed to recruit about one and a half thousand new activists in Kostroma in Kostroma. The priest in details told how an energetic young functionary, having arrived in Kostroma and having no connections there, began to actively get acquainted with student youth in hostels, communicate in companies, calculating informal leaders (Archimandrite Gennady explained what signs should be taken into account: “The guys from the company come out, they are returning, but when someone comes out, and several is raised after it and there are several at once-several is raised several of it and several people are raised. This is the leader "). For a couple of weeks, the emissary did not reveal his belonging to the asset of "ours" and his true tasks. As a result of thoughtful activities, a month later, he was able to bring an impressive number of students to a mass event.

"To create a youth Orthodox organization, a clear project is needed with the development of goals, objectives; resources, financial support must be calculated," continued Archimandrite Gennady. However, bringing the methods of replenishing the ranks of “ours” as an example, he did not say what financial resources provide the impressive mass of their events.

Now the churches are needed, first of all, not so much theologians, "smarters" as people purposeful, active, leaders, the head of youth ministry believes. He complained that often on such active young parishioners who want to change something, "look at the insufficiently humble," crush "them in Sunday schools and seminaries.
