| TV critics sum up January
Television observers from various publications agree on one thing: nothing good can be expected from New Year's programs. No new tricks have been invented, but the channels just don’t have a festive mood and the usual fun. The biggest failures, by all accounts, were “Carnival Night 2” and the TV series “Stalin. Live”. And the biggest success was the film "The Island". And it is clear that the best way to attract attention is censorship. The speech of Pyotr Mamonov, cut from the Golden Eagle ceremony, might not have been so much noticed, but the fact of its removal from the air emphasized its significance not even with one, but with three bold features.
In the general television situation, however, a slight positive shift has been noticed - away from entertainment and speculation into the realm of reality. The success of the show “Island”, “Live”, as well as the talk shows “One Hundred Questions for an Adult” and “People Want to Know” on the TV Center channel indicates that the public is not at all as stupid as everyone already thought. .. |
