The armies of Ukraine and Belarus are getting rid of the Soviet heritage - footcloths

The military personnel of the Belarusian army switch to wearing socks instead of footcloths and new shoes - Bertsev ( army half -saps ) instead of boots. As reported on Thursday at the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, this is provided for by a new resolution on the allowance of military personnel.

They noted that some of the military personnel of the Belarusian army are already provided with new patterns of uniform shoes. The representative of the department specified Interfax that the berets were entering the troops in two versions - with lacing and with buckle. He also noted that the soldiers will not wash their socks themselves - they will be provided with in clean socks.

Earlier on Thursday, such a message came from Ukraine. According to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anatoly Gritsenko, from the fall of 2007 a new form of shoes for soldiers will be introduced in the Ukrainian army. "All military soldiers, call, will be provided with modern shoes - army boots, socks," Gritsenko told reporters on Thursday in Kyiv.

According to the minister, there will no longer be “boots and footcloths” in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “For centuries in our army, soldiers wore boots and footcloths. We refuse it,” he said. Gritsenko, thus, noted problems with hygiene and inconvenience that the old shoes created soldiers. The Minister said that this issue will be settled by his order - the relevant order was given to the General Staff and the security services.

The head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine noted that the new form of shoes will be of the same quality, both among military soldiers and military military personnel. Gritsenko also said that the army will switch to a single standard for fabric requirements for sewing field uniforms - it will be of the same quality, both among the soldiers and the generals, which is the norm in all the advanced armies of the world.

Meanwhile, the Russian army in the foreseeable future is not going to abandon the footcloths and Kirzachi. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Kirsz boots are optimal shoes for military service military personnel. According to the Russian military leaders, the conscripts who live in the barracks are not convenient to have boots and socks that need to be constantly washed, and the most hygienic and convenient are footcloths, the washing of which is organized centrally.

There are three types of footcloths in the Russian army: in the summer, special summer is used, in winter - bike, and in the northern regions - woolen. To the question of why in other armies they have long abandoned the use of the Kirazovaya boots, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation noticed: "In other armies of Europe, where there are no boots, the temperature of minus 10 is already a tragedy. The military personnel of our army have to carry out combat missions and at a temperature of minus 40 and minus 55 degrees."

Boots and footcloths appeared in Russia back in the tsarist army during the time of Emperor Alexander III, but this type of army uniform was most widespread in the Armed Forces of the USSR.
