If the traffic police officer noticed that some overseas guest is trying to drive a car, but his reactions are inadequate, it should be politely hinting: "It is not allowed to drive a car in this state. You need to relax."

In case any foreigners are “walking around”, the policeman can use the phrase: “Comrades (gentlemen), time later. You can’t sing loudly on the street (turn on the transistor, tape recorder)!” If this does not work, it is recommended to use the presumptuous foreigner more to the presumptuous: "Are you insured from civil liability?"

However, the most noticeable difference between this phrasebook and other similar brochures is in the abundance of sports terms and phrases, the RG notes: it lists almost all types of winter sports, the names of sports grounds, stadiums and arenas, and the presence of such expressions as “giving a feed”, “replacement of the player” and even the “Olympic spirit”. A police officer must navigate in foreign measures of weight and length, if necessary, tell a foreigner the number, month and time, tell what and how much it costs, be able to call numerals, colors, and quality of objects in three languages.

In the Sochi District Department of Internal Affairs, they do not hide that a phrasebook was taken as a basis, which was released in Tataria to the 1000th anniversary of Kazan, but it was subjected to fundamental processing taking into account the resort specifics and Olympic claims of Sochi, for which the local department for science and education was attracted. “The phrasebook is only part of the project, the main thing for us is to teach policemen to speak foreign languages, which will always be relevant in Sochi,” said Colonel Alexander Ehrenburg, the head of the press service of the city police department. “In the future we plan to hire only those who will pass a linguistic test.

While the Sochi police officers were divided into two groups: in the first, those who are at least a little familiar with foreign languages, the second - who are "not in the tooth."
