A team of Polish Catholic priests became European mini-football champions

The victory of the Polish national team ended the day before in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo, the European mini-football championship among representatives of Catholic dioceses.

In the final match, the Polish national team defeated Croatia in a penalty shootout (regular time ended in a 1:1 draw). The cup was presented to the winners by the Catholic Cardinal of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vinko Puljic, RIA Novosti reports.

According to information disseminated today by the Bosnian media, the top scorer of the tournament was a church minister from Poland, Marcel Olshovka, who scored 6 goals in six matches.

The match for third place ended with the victory of the hosts of the tournament, the Bosnians, over Portugal - 2:1. Clergymen from Austria, Italy, Spain, Slovenia, Hungary and Romania also took part in the competition.

The first such championship took place in 2005 in Austria. In 2006, the championship was hosted by Croatia.
