According to one of the interlocutors of the newspaper, Gilbertson failed to agree on the amount of monetary reward with the main shareholder of Sual Viktor Vekselberg. On Wednesday, Vekselberg met with the owner of Rusal Oleg Deripaska, and they agreed on the decision to resign the top manager, who, as previously, was supposed to lead the board of directors of the United Company Russian Aluminum.
Now this post will go to another representative of Sual, and Gilbertson will take up his own projects in the field of mining. Now the architect of the transaction to create the BHP Billiton concern leads the pool of investors who acquire the Australian company Consolidated Minerals, recalls Interfax.
"Rusal", SUAL and the Swiss trader Glencore, which introduces its clay -earth assets into the combined company, signed an agreement on the creation of "Russian aluminum" in October last year. In the structure created by the RUSAL shareholders, 66%of the shares will belong, SUAL shareholders - 22%, Glencore - 12%. The holding company will be the United Company Rusal Limited, registered in October last year on the island of Jersey. The “Russian aluminum” General Director of Rusala Alexander Bulygin will be headed.
