Putin signed a law recognizing the jurisdiction of the UN International Court

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law "On the Removing of Slause for certain international treaties", adopted by the State Duma on February 16, 2007 and approved by the Federation Council on February 21, 2007, the press service of the head of the Russian state studied.

The law provides for the withdrawal of reservations on the non -recognition of the jurisdiction of the UN International Court in relation to disputes between states - participants in such agreements, regarding their interpretation and application made by the USSR in the 80s of the last century when signing a number of "anti -terrorist" agreements.

According to experts, the lifting of reservations to these international treaties does not contradict the legislation of the Russian Federation and will allow Russia to use the mechanism of the UN International Court to resolve disputes with other state -owners about their interpretation and application if necessary.

As the State Duma speaker Boris Gryzlov said earlier, soon Moscow can appeal to the International Court of Britain, which does not issue Ahmed Zakaev.
