
In Irkutsk, the reality show "Call of the Ancestors", which was held for the first time as part of the Festival of Winter Games in the Baikal "Zimniada 2007" ended. The winner of the "Call of the Ancestors" was Alexei Lyavsky, a 26-year-old Irkutsk, who works an electrician. He completed the 15-kilometer race on the dog sledges faster. Its control time at the last stage is 46 minutes 50 seconds. Alexei became the owner of the main prize - a golden nugget.
Two other participants in the final - Ilya Semenov (50 minutes 53 seconds) and Alexei Streluk (51 minutes 38 seconds) also received prizes - nuggets smaller in weight.
The Call of the Ancestors is an extreme race, which only men could take part. They competed in the ability to ski, control snowmobiles, dog sledges. Men needed not only to overcome a huge distance, but also to complete special tasks: chopped firewood, dilute a fire, train water. The distance that the participants overcame in three days of the race - 120 kilometers. A special excitement was given to the competition that none of the participants had previously managed snowmobiles and did not ride dog sledges.
It is planned that the "Call of the Ancestors" will become a traditional event in winter Baikal and will be held in 2008 at the same time, reports REGNUM .
