The opposition at a rally in Minsk demanded to release political prisoners

The participants of the unauthorized rally of the opposition in Minsk today in Minsk today demanded to release all political prisoners, including the ex-candidate of the president of the opposition.

The Belorussian Popular Front Valentine (Vintsuk), who spoke at this action, said that the Belarusian authorities should immediately release all political prisoners and begin democratic transformations in the country.

At the rally, in support of the Belarusian opposition, deputies of the Seim of Poland, representatives of a number of democratic organizations of Azerbaijan, Russia, as well as representatives of the European Parliament spoke.

The unauthorized opposition rally took place on the site in front of the building of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences. Its participants became about 5 thousand people. It was the most massive promotion of the opposition over the past year.

During the rally, representatives of the police through sound -integrating equipment repeatedly demanded to terminate the illegal action. They also warned the organizers about administrative responsibility.

The action ended with acceleration and the detention of its participants. According to the correspondent of "Echo of Moscow" , about 30 people were detained, they are in different departments of the police of the city.
