Stepping on a rake is, of course, our national sport. But not to the same extent? Last week, 178 people died in accidents. All the sacrifices - senseless, all - could have been avoided. For the reasons for them are not a destructive element of nature and not a monstrous combination of circumstances: a scoop. The same scoop that seemed to have died 16 years ago, but no, the smoking room is alive and will live.

The main attraction of the Soviet government: to hand over the object ahead of schedule. To the anniversary of October, to the birthday of Lenin, dear Leonid Ilyich, to May 1 and March 8. Favorite headlines of Soviet newspapers: "Commissioned ahead of schedule ...". From the memorable: "Ahead of schedule, 3 months and 5 days ahead of schedule, the 4th power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was brought to its design capacity." Two years later, this block exploded. The Ulyanovsk mine in Kuzbass was also in a hurry to be commissioned ahead of schedule. 108 people were handed over with coffins.

The main principle of Soviet power was: at any cost, regardless of any sacrifices, "Soviet means excellent." The Tu-134 plane did not reach the runway in Saratov - six people were killed. The fact that these “carcasses” are not “excellent” for a long time, they have long worked out their resource, they wrote dozens of times. Will write now. And the planes will continue to fly: who counts the crosses on the graves?

That “children and old people, of course, are people too”, but “we make rockets” and everything else is on the side, and there is no need to say: in the country where the most modern weapons are created, fire extinguishers have not worked for centuries, and in the wells for fire engines there was never enough water. Is it any wonder that the nearest fire station to the village of Kamyshevatskaya, where the nursing home burned down and 64 people died, was 50 kilometers away?

It is not even interesting to guess who will be appointed as the guilty ones in all three tragedies. The options are known: either “the perpetrators were not found”, or a switchman will be appointed. Actually, the whole difference between “today” and “then” is only that “then” they learned about the disasters weeks later or did not learn at all - now on the same day. But just as during the scoop, leaders were removed only for sedition or treason, so now, after the abolition of the election of governors in 2004, the only reward is the praise of Himself, the only crime is to go against Himself or not share it with the environment. Without exception, all mayors and governors who have been removed or arrested for today have been fired exactly for this.

There can be no doubt: neither Governor Tkachev nor Governor Tuleev will lose their posts. Meanwhile, it is they who, in the end, should bear the responsibility: one did not allocate funds for the fire station, the other was in a hurry to give coal to the country for the mountain. The law of the vertical is that whoever makes decisions bears responsibility. Only if earlier they at least theoretically answered to the voters and could lose office in the next election, now this does not threaten them either. As well as under Soviet rule, when the main reward for the secretary of the regional committee is the favor of the general secretary, and the main punishment is his anger.

The worst thing is that no one doubts that planes will continue to fall, houses will burn, and everything that can explode will explode. The inertia of the big body - the Soviet Union - is exhausted, the infrastructure is outdated and collapsed, no one wants and will not invest money in a new one, but rapos / mouths about successes and accomplishments will go upstairs and people will die.
