Deacon Andrei Kuraev criticizes the bill prohibiting the media to call nationality and religion of offenders

The professor of the Moscow Theological Academy Deacon Andrei Kuraev objects to the adoption of a bill proving the ban on publication of information on nationality and religious affiliation of victims and offenders.

"The bill makes a very strange impression, as if if something is not called, then it does not exist. This is such a magical mythological thinking: if you do not talk about the nationality of people committing unseemly acts, they say these actions will disappear by themselves. This is not true," Andrei Kuraev said Interfax agency.

At the same time, he noted that there is a real problem of "incultuations of migrants in the fabric of Russian society", which "occurs uniform."

"To deny the presence of a conflict is a crime, especially after what was in the condopogue. I hope that at least the Kondopoga will teach our newly -minted tolerant workers to see honestly reality in its complexity, in its tragic diversity," A. Kuraev said.

The bill, developed by the Moscow City Duma and proposed to the State Duma this month, involves supplementing the law "On the media" by the Regulation of the following content: "It is forbidden to disseminate the media in the media, as well as in computer networks of information on national, racial affiliation or the attitude of the victims, persons who committed the offense and accused of committing crime."

Characterizing the bill, A. Kuraev said that "this new gag into the throat is not at all to taste." “We see that the so -called migrants are clearly identified by a national -religious basis. We just saw it in Paris, when exactly migrants instantly organized hundreds to recapture from controllers in the Paris metro of one of their own,” the representative of the church noted.
