The chairman of the Palestinian National Administration (PNU) Mahmoud Abbas called on Israel to accept the Arab peace plan and not to miss the chance to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Abbas stated this, speaking at the final meeting of the Mezharab summit in Riyadh , ITAR-TASS reports.
“I confirm the readiness of the Palestinians to stretch the hand of the world to the Israeli people,” said Mahmoud Abbas. According to him, there may no longer be another chance, and therefore this opportunity should not be missed, which "with the support of the Arab, Islamic states and the entire world community can be realized."
As Abbas indicated, the Arab world and, first of all, Palestinians, seek to turn the Arabic peace plan "to the real mechanism of achieving peace in the Middle East." Those who are trying to impose amendments to the Arab initiative simply seek to avoid the achievement of the desired world, said the Palestinian leader.
Recall that on Wednesday evening, the Arab countries unanimously approved the re-nomination of the Arab peaceful plan, while the initiative was taken as a basis without any changes. As explained in the Russian delegation participating in the work of the summit, before making any adjustments, it is necessary to approve the plan as a starting point. On the available basis, the negotiation process may begin, and now the Arab countries are waiting for the reaction of Israel.
Meanwhile, Israel states that he will voice his official position only after he carefully studies the plan. According to a number of diplomatic sources, the final commander of the forum mentions "a fair solution to the problem of Palestinian refugees", but it is not said directly about the right of exiles to return to their homes. Israel, which rejected the Arab plan five years ago, urgedly tried to achieve a phrase from the text of the return of Palestinian refugees from the text.
