American experts arrived in the Czech Republic to examine a place for radar

On Monday, a group of American experts in the field of missile defense arrived in the Czech Republic. Over the next five days, they will conduct technical measurements at the BRDA training ground of 65 km southwest of Prague, where it is supposed to place an American radar station-an element of the PRO, which the United States intends to deploy in Europe, ITAR-TASS reports.

According to the press secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic, Yana Paishak, American scientists will measure electromagnetic fields at the site of the alleged placement of the radar. Direct work at the training ground will begin on Tuesday, and on Monday meetings at the Ministry of Defense were held.

The representative of the Czech defense department emphasized that the trip is exclusively working and in no way means that Prague agreed to the construction of the station. Next negotiations began on the possibility of its creation and how they will end is unknown.

It is assumed that in the event of a successful course of Czech-American negotiations on the following group of American experts, he will arrive in the republic "after a few months."

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Polish Government Andrzej Lepper said on Monday in an interview with Interfax that in the near future he will be convened to discuss the US request for the deployment of 10 missiles in the framework of the national security Council of Poland.

“Based on the words of the president, this should happen before Easter or immediately after this holiday,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

The council consists of high -ranking figures appointed by the president at his meetings are discussed the main topics regarding the security of the country. Lepper is part of it and participated last Tuesday in the first meeting dedicated to the problem of the pro.

Recall that the United States intends to place 10 interceptor missiles in Poland and a radar installation for them in the Czech Republic. Warsaw has already agreed to start negotiations on this issue.

Earlier, the Czech government decided to start negotiations with the United States on the deployment of a radar in the country in the framework of American Pro.

However, according to recent surveys, more than 70% of Czech citizens against the placement of US radar in the republic. The parliamentary opposition, the Social Democrats and the Communists, insist on holding a national referendum on the construction of radar.

Russia said that it would take into account in its defense policy the placement of elements of American Pro in Eastern Europe, including in the Czech Republic. “We believe that such things should be done transparently on the basis of consultations with Russia,” said Mikhail Kaminin, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
