Rostekhnadzor suspended 33 Russian mines for violations

The Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor) suspended 33 mines of Russia for five days. According to Interfax, this occurs as part of a comprehensive check of mining enterprises. The department holds it in connection with the largest tragedy at the Ulyanovskaya mine in the Kemerovo region.

In particular, according to Rostekhnadzor, the work of 29 mines has been suspended in this area from March 27. In the Rostov region, four of the six proven objects are temporarily closed - CJSC Mikhail Chikha Shakhty, the Sherlovskaya - inclined mine, the Zamchalovskaya and Almaza mine.

In addition, in the Republic of Khakassia, checking the Ugolnaya mine (Khakaszerezugol LLC), Rostekhnadzor experts discovered 141 violations of industrial safety requirements. Some of these violations could potentially lead to an accident, experts note.

According to the order of the head of Rostekhnadzor, Konstantin Pulikovsky, the country's mines check the compliance of the planned areas and volumes of mining to the technical project and design technological documents, the presence of copyright supervision of design solutions and positive expert conclusions, and much more.

To eliminate violations, the work in the mines is suspended for up to 5 days. A comprehensive check of Russian mines will last until April 26.
