Opening consultations with the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada and the leaders of parliamentary factions, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko said: “Today, a creeping usurpation of power is being carried out in one hand. Ultimately, democratic ideals and democratic values ​​in society are called into question.” He called what is happening in parliament a political revenge, when the majority does not cooperate with the opposition, according to Novaya Gazeta's own correspondent in Kiev, Yanina Vaskovskaya.
