The Parliament of Ukraine forbade the National Bank to finance extraordinary elections to the Rada

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine temporarily forbade the country's national bank to take part in financing the measures provided for by the presidential decree on the dissolution of the parliament and the conduct of early parliamentary elections - before the decision on the legality of this document adoption by the Constitutional Court . The corresponding resolution was supported on Tuesday 252 out of 255 255 deputies of the Ukrainian parliament, Interfax reports.

Recall that earlier the Verkhovna Rada and the Ukrainian government refused to obey the decision of President Viktor Yushchenko on the dissolution of the country's parliament and the holding of early parliamentary elections on May 27. The leaders of the opposition blocks Yulia Tymoshenko and our Ukraine supported the order of the head of state. On Tuesday, the Ukrainian parliament, despite the presidential decree, gathered for his next meeting.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, speaking in parliament, said that the government and the Rada will work as usual to the verdict of the Constitutional Court by decree of Yushchenko. At the same time, Yanukovych called Yushchenko’s decree “a fatal mistake”, which should be corrected, and promised to prevent destabilization of the situation in the country. The prime minister also stated that in the case of early elections to the Verkhovna Rada, early presidential elections are inevitable.
