Solan can again be an intermediary in the settlement of a crisis in Ukraine

The Supreme Representative for Foreign Policy and Security of the European Union Javier Solan carefully monitors the development of events in Ukraine , his press secretary Christina Gallalak said on Tuesday.

“Mr. Solan is in constant contact with the ambassadors of the EU countries in Kyiv and receives information from them,” she told Interfax. “We are still refraining from comments.”

Gallal recalled that last week, speaking in the European Parliament in Brussels, Solan expressed serious concern in connection with the developing political situation in Ukraine.

Some observers do not exclude that Javier Solan may again act as an intermediary in resolving a difficult political situation in Ukraine, as was the case during the "Orange Revolution". Then Solan took part in three rounds of multilateral negotiations with the participation of international intermediaries to resolve the political crisis in Ukraine after the second round of the presidential election.
