More than a thousand people participate in the hunger strike in Kyrgyzstan

Over a thousand people throughout Kyrgyzstan participate in ahunger strike with a demand for the resignation of the president of Kyrgyzstan and the appointment of the date of early elections. At the same time, on Tuesday morning, thirty -one people from starving in Bishkek Square in front of the building of the Kyrgyzstan parliament stopped a political hunger strike. All of them participated in the action from the very beginning - from April 5 and interrupted the hunger strike “voluntarily at the suggestion of the organizers of the action”, based on the state of health or for reasons related to the participation of protest on April 11 , Interfax reports with reference to one of the organizers of the Promotion of Beknazar Urumov.

According to Urumov, at the moment, 71 people are involved in the square in Bishkek in a political hunger strike. The headquarters of the organizers of the action specified that 1139 people joined the hunger strike all over the country.

- President Bakiev fears attempts of a coup

Most of the participants in the Bishkek campaign almost never get up from their stomachs, RIA Novosti reports. The starving are located in eight white yurts. The age of starving from 19 to 65 years. There are many women among them.

The requirements of the starving remain the same - the immediate resignation of the president and the announcement of the early elections of the head of state.

On Wednesday, April 11, all participants in the action plan to go to the Central Square of Bishkek "ALO-Too", where at 14:00 local time (12:00 in Moscow) the massive perpetual rally of the United Front and the Movement for Reforms will begin.

According to Urumov, the rally will open a column of starving. “We will carry those who cannot go on our hands,” he said.

Recall that the former associate of Bakiev, according to the election political tandem, ex-Prime Minister Felix Kulov, after the resignation, who headed the radical united front, said that part of the votes received by Bakiev in the presidential election in the summer of 2005 belongs to him as a participant in the tandem, which is questioned by the legitimacy of the president.

The requirements of the opposition to resign the President and the appointment of early elections, as well as the immediate reform of the Constitution, was also joined by the radical wing of the Kyrgyz opposition movement "For reform", which unites about 20 political parties and non -governmental organizations of the republic. Two wings of the Kyrgyz opposition created a single headquarters, which will lead the mass action in Bishkek on April 11.

President Bakiev fears the coup attempts

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan President Kurmanbek Bakiev, on the eve of the opposition rallies, did not exclude attempts to change power in the country through a coup. He criticized the actions of a number of politicians who, in his opinion, strive for power by any means.

In a television show on Tuesday, Bakiev said that a well -thought -out strategy for a change of power by a wrong way, to a coup d'etat, is "being implemented in Kyrgyzstan." The head of state believes that "as the president did everything possible," but "in response - only ultimatums and unwillingness to talk, participate in joint work on the constitution and as part of the government."

"It seems that the more we go towards, the more we carry out the changes, the less oppositionists like it, the more they refuse more and more tougher," Bakiev said.
