A plane with 179 passengers was captured in Turkey

In Turkey, a passenger plane was captured, following a flight to Istanbul. The captured board with 179 passengers on board had already landed in Ankara.

The passenger aircraft of the Turkish airline PEGASUS, flying a flight from the city of Diyarbakyr to Istanbul, was captured by unknown people and landed at Esenboy Airport in Ankara, Interfax reports with reference to Turkish television.

According to the latest data, the hijacker, who is called Mehmed Gogsin Gol, has already surrendered to the authorities. He did not put forward the political requirements, and officials tend to motivate his act with a mental disorder, Reuters reports with reference to the Anatolian news agency. According to other sources, the unemployed resident of Diyarbakyr who stole a plane had drugs.

According to one of the passengers, the hijacker at first demanded that the plane fly to Iran. Earlier, the man was already arrested in Ankara for drug use, the Echo of Moscow radio station reports.

It was originally reported that a woman could be a hijacker.

None of the passengers of the internal flight aircraft was injured.

It should be noted that the city of Diyarbakyr, from where the captured side initially flew out, is the administrative center of Turkish Kurdistan.
