In Ukraine, three organizations united into the election block "Folk Self -Defense Yuri Lutsenko"

The party "Forward, Ukraine!", The Christian Democratic Union (CDS) and the public movement "People's Self-Defense" created the electoral bloc "People's Self-Defense Yuri Lutsenko".

On Sunday on Sunday in Kyiv, the leaders of the three organizations endorsed the act on the creation of the block and demonstrated it to the congress participants, which registered 240 delegates.

On the agenda of the congress - a discussion of the political tasks of the block, approval of the election program and discussing the issue of nomination of candidates for people's deputies from the bloc.

Lutsenko initiated the creation of the public movement "People's Self -Defense" in December 2006 after the Verkhovna Rada fired him from the post of Minister of the Interior. He headed the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Government of Yulia Tymoshenko (from February 4, 2005), retained his post in the government of Yuri Yehanurov, formed in the fall of 2005 and was again appointed head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on August 4, 2006 in the government of Viktor Yanukovych. The president agreed with his candidacy with the prime minister.

Lutsenko was a member of the social party, however, after the appointment of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2005, he suspended his membership. After entering the anti -crisis coalition (Party of Regions, Social Party, Communist Party), he left the party.

The party "Forward, Ukraine!" Created in 1999. The party leader is a famous lawyer, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the 2nd and 4th convocations Viktor Musiak. In the 2006 parliamentary elections, the party took part on its own - took the last place out of 45 participants in the electoral process - having gained 0.02% of the vote, did not go to parliament.

The party of the Christian Democratic Union was created in February 1997. The head of the party is Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, People's Deputy of the 2nd, 4th, 5th convocations Vladimir Stretovich. The CDU participated in the 2006 parliamentary elections as part of the Our Ukraine block. The Block "Our Ukraine" took third place, gaining 13.95% of the vote, missing the Party of Regions (32.14% of the vote) and Blok Yulia Tymoshenko (22.29%). V.
