The last issue of the weekly The Sunday Telegraph published the results of the survey conducted by the Gallup Institute on the integration of Muslims into the British society. The full text of the report on the results of this survey will be published in the media this week, today Daily Telegraph reports (full text on the website inopressa.ru ).
According to the data given in the newspaper, most British Muslims believe that Muslims should allow the nickname to wear the whole face, leaving only eyes for their eyes - despite the fears that this will prevent the integration of Muslims into British society.
Almost 90% of the survey participants believe that Western governments advocate the ban on wearing traditional Muslim robes precisely because, in their opinion, this can “damage social unity,” the British edition writes. In schools, such prohibitions are introduced for security reasons and for the convenience of the learning process, the publication is noted.
The survey was conducted among various segments of the population. 55% of the total number of respondents believe that the refusal to wear Muslim robes is vital for the integration of Muslims into British society. However, only 13% of citizens professing Islam agree with this.
According to British Muslims, the most important conditions for the integration of Muslims into British society are: a change in the policy of Great Britain in relation to Islamic countries and establishing economic ties with them, as well as "more respect for Islam."
It should be noted that British Muslims are more trusted by state institutions, police and courts than the average Briton. Only one of four Muslims would like to live in the area where people of similar religious views and ethnos live.
Almost three quarters of the Muslim surveyed stated that they were loyal to the UK, and 82% said that they respect other religions, notes The Sunday Telegraph.
