The anti -fascist center noted Estonia's weak desire to punish Nazi criminals

Estonian, who is living in Venezuela, Harry Myannil and Mikhail Gorshkov, who are in Estonia under investigation, former security officials of Nazi Germany, appear on the list of ten most wanted war criminals. According to the Delfi agency, these two surnames appear in the annual report of the center of Simon Vizenthal.

Recall that the Wiesenthal Center is an independent organization whose members are trying to preserve the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, promote tolerance and fight anti -Semitism. The center was founded in 1977 with headquarters in Los Angeles.

In previous years, the center of Simon Vizenthal placed Estonia on the list of countries, to condemn war criminals to do nothing. And in the new accountable period - from April 1, 2006 to March 31, 2007, Estonia appears among countries that have a weak interest in condemning Nazism.

Perhaps some increase in the ranking is associated with the case against the native of Estonia Mikhail Gorshkov, who worked as a translator in Gestapo, conducted interrogations and presumably participated in the murders of Jews in Belarus. Almost 50 years ago, he came to the United States and hid that it was related to Nazi Germany - and this cooperation under American laws does not allow entry into the country.

Estonia has long been reproached for the complete lack of interest in hunting Nazis. The press even called the number of criminals living in this country - 17 people. The Wizenthal Center accused Sweden and Norway of the absence of such zeal. The assessment of "zero" was also received by Lithuania, Latvia, Syria, Austria, Germany, Poland and Canada, which did not put a single former Nazi on the bench.
