Piotrovsky will answer for everyone

The head of the Municipal Internal Affairs Directorate of the city and region, Vladislav Piotrovsky, will be summoned on April 25 to a meeting of the Legislative Assembly as part of the “Government Hour” to ask him questions about the latest March of Dissent. On Monday, a corresponding decision will be made at the council of factions, whose leaders previously agreed on this “invitation.”

The initiative to summon Mr. Piotrovsky to the meeting was taken by the Communist Party faction, whose member, lawyer Yuri Karpenko, was approached by some march participants, including from Yabloko. According to communist leader Vladimir Fedorov, there is reason to talk about a massive violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, and Piotrovsky must give answers to the numerous questions that deputies have. The leader of the Social Revolutionaries, Oleg Nilov, says that his faction does not take the position of the organizers of the march, but believes that the Legislative Assembly “can and must pay attention” to events such as those that took place on Pionerskaya Square. The call of the head of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate is also supported by the Speaker of the Assembly Vadim Tyulpanov.
So, most likely, Piotrovsky will have to come. Another question is what will he answer? So far, the leadership of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate assures that the riot police acted legally, and that what happened at the march was a “planned provocation”: stones and bottles were allegedly thrown at the police, and the clashes began after they tried to detain the “provocateurs.” True, eyewitnesses claim that the “provocateurs” were fake and acted in the interests of the riot police themselves.
