In Transcarpathia, the ruins of the Orthodox monastery were discovered

In the village of Grushevo, the Tileyevsky district of Transcarpathia, they dig a monastery of the X century. “There are ancient frescoes here,” says the abbot of the monastery Archimandrite Stratonik, “brown wreckage of the walls. In 1997, miracles began to appear on this mountain. A resident of Grushev cut down a 150 -year -old apple tree, growing in the place where the monastery stood, and when he split it, it was a sign that the ruins needed to dig.

According to Risu, in the old monastery that existed in Grushev was the first Russian printing house, as well as a school. According to the historian Evgeny Perfetsky, the monastery existed until the 14th century, and it was considered the ancients as early as 1391, when the Patriarch Anton gave the monastery the privilege of self -government.

Thus, the monastery received the right to carry out spiritual administration in the Maramoro region. In 1556, the monastery was subordinated to the Mukachevsky diocese. The final destruction of the monastery took place in 1670, as a result of frequent Turkish-Tatar attacks. Monastery property has long appeared in the descriptions of Maramoric monasteries of the XVIII.

Now on the site of the monastery there is a stone cross. Excavations of the monastery began in 1997, when scientists of Uzhgorod and Bai Mare (Romania) found the foundation and basement of the monastery.
